I'm looking for any information on a cookie jar that I have with
the bottom inscribed as "Ransburg Genuine Hand Painted
Indianapolis USA" Thankyou for any info you can give me on this.
Sincerely Bonita
I collect McCoy pottery as a hobby. I first became interested in
McCoy pottery when I was very small. My grandmother's grandfather
was a brother to the men that faught in the Hatfield/McCoy fued.
She is still alive and is 89 years old. Her grandfather decided to
move his family away right before the fued took place. He was so
afraid for his wife and children. I have a wonderful collection of
McCoy pottery and plan on passing it on to my daughter. If anyone
would like to email me, please do so.
My mother recently acquired a McCoy cookie jar in the shape of
Little Red Riding Hood. It stands about 10 inches tall and has
"McCoy" impressed in the the bottom. She believes it is from the
1940s and it is in excellent shape. Anyone interested in
purchasing "Little Red" can contact me by e-mail.

I started collecting mccoy pottery from garage sales and flea
markets. I have also picked up pieces via auctions. I have been
bidding out at EBAY auctions and it is a lot of fun but sometimes
the prices do get quite out of hand. I am mainly looking for
animal pieces (anything with animals on it) and pots with saucers
because I grow herbs and they are perfect for that. Thanks,
Cheri
LOOKING always for good cookie jars.Am an advanced collector of
sorts but missing many lessor..Would love to see your
items........Thanks seaedward@aol.com
I have a McCoy cookie jar that I purchased at a garage sale for
$3.00. I would like to get some information on its background, but
I can't find it listed in your index. It is a brown puppy bending
down with his chin resting on his front feet, and his rear end is
sticking straight up in the air. Any information you could send
would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have been a McCoy collector for over 20 years. So glad to see an
information site set up. I've lived in Juneau for18 years and have
seen about 5 pieces for sale in local antique stores over the
years. Needless to say I always do my shopping when I go back home
to Florida every 2 years. I think I'm the only collector besides
my sister that collects in Juneau. Happy to have this site to keep
updated on McCoy. Thank You!
I'm looking forward to the completion of your web site! I know it
is a tremendous amount of work. You can easily tell who is putting
effort into an ecellent site and who is just clodding around, you
are in the ecellent catagory. I don't surf much because of time
restraints, but I do have a few sites that I love to frequent.
"Rekon ya'll" will be one of 'em! Keep up the good work and take
as long as is needed for a GOOD job. See ya soon! Joyce :)

looking for price of a teapot marked oven proof on the bottom itis
brown and in perfect condition.
I am looking for any information I have on a Brush piece that is
enitialed by the glazing artist. It is a small bowl, off white in
color with brown butterflys. The enitials M.T. are in the glaze in
small letters. Does anyone know anything about this artist or even
info. like years of production, name of line ect..? Any help would
be greatly appreciated.
I am looking for info. on a Brush piece I have. It is a smaller
off white bowl with brown butterflys painted in the glazing. The
really cool thing about this piece is the artist initialed it M.T.
Anybody know anything about this artist or even an idea how I
could find this info.? I would also like to know the years of
production on these kind of pieces, and the name of the line.
Another question I have is about a small maroon colored Brush bowl
with scalloped like edges, it has a large factory flaw in the
glaze, (it is missing a spot of glaze about the size of a quarter
on the side) not a chip. Is this a plus or minus in value?

i have been collecting for a few years now and love it. I really
love to get pieces from family or by accident,,,like a rummage
sale. It makes rummage sale shopping so much fun. Thats how i got
my first piece and it had a small crack but i didnt care. It was a
whole dollar and i was so excited to se McCoy on the bottom i
couldnt wait to pay and get out of there before they found out
what i had,,,hehe,,,,felt like a kid again. I would like to see an
updated trading and buying and selling part!! Thanks and glad i
found this!!
I have been collecting McCoy Pottery for a little over a year now.
I have several pieces, but I am always looking for more info on
it. I am also always on the lookout for new McCoy. This is the 1st
time I have visisted your website, but I am sure I will be back
often. So far I have enjoyed what I see. Thanks for the website,
and I'll be back.
I had never considered myself as a collector of McCoy until
shopping at an antique mall last week and my husband and I was
admiring a few pieces. The owner then asked me if I was a collector
and I replied not really. She then said well are you or not?I
stood there in a stupid state as she went on to say well if you
have more than a couple of pieces then your a collector.Well I
guess I am now.I have had quite a few pieces for years and have
always loved them for their unique and well made designs. So as I
am now a collector I just wanted to let someone know.Thank you for
a great web site. Its very informative and unique!!! W.J.Lee

I am a new collector of McCoy Pottery. Most of my pieces are not
expensive, but I have been getting a few very nice pieces as
gifts. I find that I can spot a piece of McCoy very quickly at
fleamarkets and the odd garage sale. I own a McCoy encyclopedia
and refer to it often. I really get a kick out of finding a piece
that I have bought in the book. I now have 10 that I can point to
and brag about. My husband has joined me in my enthusiasm for
collecting McCoy, and we have spent many an enjoyable afternoon
looking for a good bargain. This web site and all the links are
great fun and very informative. Thankyou for including this humble
collector. Sherri Harris

Collect Mccoy Pottery (400 pieces), Gonder Pottery (150 pieces),
and cookie jars (500+). Wife Carol and I are known as the Crazy
Couple. We attend the National Cookie Jar Show in Nashville, TN,
each year; and, also attend Pottery Festival Week in Zanesville,
OH. We are members of the McCoy Lovers Group, and the Gonder
Collectors Association.
Not a collector per se. Going through my grandmother's estate,
found a green frog planter, and a few other pieces that she dearly
loved...all McCoy. The frog is so ugly it's attractive! But I
remember them fondly from childhood, and am very happy that so
many people enjoy McCoy as much as I do. Keep up the good work on
the site...I look forward to checking back again later.

interested in brush/mccoy cookie jars and pottery.
Gotta love that McCoy! I specialize (if you can call it that) in
JW and Nelson -- no Brush. I especially prefer bowls, unmarked
pieces, and those bargain finds at flea markets, yard sales, and
auctions.
I have recently acquired my first McCoy piece...found in my
mother's yard. It's a 12" vase of some sort of long leafed design
in blue/green solid color. I'm not interested in selling it, since
I am now an official collector but would like any info on it.
After browsing the web, I realized I had an unmarked cookie jar (I
think.) I'm hooked!!
I have really enjoyed your Website. It has been very informative
and helpful to me with my McCoy collection. I have been collecting
for a little over a year now and I have well over 60 pieces. I am
always anxious to add to it. I was lucky enough to stumble on an
Antique store auction this summer where I was able to pick up
about 20 or so pieces, then the following week I hit another
auction where the lady of the house collected McCoy. Most of the
people at that auction had no idea what McCoy was so I was able to
get most of the the pieces there at an unbelievable bargain. I
also became known as the McCoy lady. Keep up the good work.
enjoying the info from this site.would love to see more.

I am new to collecting McCoy Pottery but very interested
I am new at the internet, and am thrilled to find this web site! I
love McCoy pottery, my sister got me hooked several years ago.
Unfortunately as I live in Alaska there is not much McCoy pottery
around and very few antique shops. I envy those who are able to go
to estate sales, flea markets, etc.! I love wall pockets and
cookie jars the most. I am hoping to find an Indian head jar that
I can afford as the one I had was broken accidentally by my son
and all that survived was the lid. If anyone can help me out
please e-mail me. Thank you for this wonderful web site!

My wife and I collect Assorted McCoy items (flower pots(over 150),
vases, book ends, ashtrays and whatever catches our eye. My mother
collects cookiejars and has appx. 220. My older brother collects
cookijars (240+) and wall pockets (?), he also collects the McCoy
dinnerware that has two blue stripes with a larger pink stripe in
the center. My younger brother has started collecting cookiejars
(40). My sister collects anything McCoy in the old green. As you
can tell my mother has created a McCoy itch , which we scratch as
often as possible

A neat site. Very helpful in dating jars that my wife and I have
bought.
Anyone dealing with Rick Wisecarver, BEWARE!! Check with the
better business buerae, He has a very bad track record. I know, I
was one of his victims. He ripped me off via UPS $450.00.He is the
one and only self proclaimed cookie jar dealer in Roseville, Ohio.
Also you might want to enquire with Joyce and Fred. They write the
cookie jar encyclopedia. They live in S.C. their phone No. is
listed in a copy of their encyclopedias. Please don't give this
person your hard earned dollars, He will stiff you the way he has
many others. Joyce told me of the may complaints she had from
collectors regarding his tacky tactics. If you need further info
regarding this ripoff artist(That's the only kind of art he did
for myself as well as others.Feel free to call me @330-2393106.
