About the Stoneware Line
Stoneware has its origins prior to 1920 during the Nelson McCoy Sanitary Stoneware Co. Pieces produced at the time included Painted and Glazed pitchers, tankards, mugs, chamber pots, canning jars, jugs, butter churns, bean pots, and crocks.
Some of the more unusual Stoneware items of the time were found within the wall of the old Sanitary Stoneware Co. one of the best examples are "Gin Jars". Other unusual items produced by the Stoneware Company included an extremely rare World War II landmine.
NOTE: We have amassed a collection of images of many of the known Stoneware pieces below, however we are always looking for more. If you know of one that is not listed, please let us know by contacting us at webmaster@mccoypottery.com
