My father just passed away this spring. While going through all of
the estate I found lots of McCoy, had no idea what it was until I
began looking into McCoy web sites. I am very excited about all
the great information you have provided. Looking forward to many
more visits.

This a very interesting site and I will visit often. I've been
collecting McCoy pottery since 1993 and have many easy to find
pieces and a few of the harder to find. I'm still looking to find
(in person) a piece in Onyx and a few of the most elusive vases
from the 40s. I also have come to appreciate some of the later
lines from the 50s and even through the 70s. McCoy covers a long
span of time and a wide range of styles. I'm sure that's part of
the appeal.

What a surprise to find about your site. I have been collecting
McCoy for 4 years and my partner and I have a collection of about
400 peices-mostly stomeware from 20's-40's, but grecian and
pedestal lines also. We do attend the reunion and the McCoy
collectors are a wonderful bunch. There is a large group on-line,
especially on AOL, where there is a weekly chat, a round robin and
a number of web pages. Nuts4Mccoy@aol.com can fill you in on all
that stuff. Good luck with the page. It is looking great. George

My wife Pat and I have been collecting McCoy for about seven
years. We have been to the reunion for the last five years and
always have a ball. Pat enjoys the butterfly pieces and minatures.
I collect the cornline stoneware items. We both like wall pockets,
brown and green stoneware, LOY-NEL-ART, and just about anything
McCoy. Looking forward to seeing more from your web page in the
future. Thanks
Just getting started. Found my first piece by accident. Saw a
picture of the Frontier Family Cookie Jar and realized it was the
one I ate cookies from for years as a child!
Just recent got interested in collecting McCoy pottery, wonder
why? My mother has some pieces and I decided to try and locate
some for myself, however, I am not having much luck in doing so.
Is there a way to outright purchase some of the items? If so,
somebody let me know. Thanks.
I am looking for two pieces for my wife(surprise) One is "Pussey
at the Well" and a"Pinecone Teapot". Any ideas where to find
either? Thanks in advance, Jim
I have just starting collecting and was very lucky to find on
planter at a garage sale for $0.50. Then my husband found a dog on
basketweave and just had to have so that was his birthday gift. We
are very interested in building our collection.

I am new to the collecting craze and am interested in finding out
about the pieces i have and always looking for more. I'm new to
the computer too so please be patient. I have the bananas cookie
jar and several flower pots and a neat teapot. I also have a few
items marked mccoy, but can't find them in any books. Curious if
they are real. any info is welcome.

Interested in Finding a reference book on McCoy Pottery. We have
some unusual pieces marked McCoy but not in any of our books.
Also, need to know what to look for on unmarked pottery to
identify maker.
I have bought and traded numerous pieces of McCoy pottery over the
last ten years. I bought a parrot pitcher at a yard sale in South
Carolina for 10 cents This item books for 150-200 dollars.
I began collecting McCoy vases about one year ago. I love this
stuff!! Is there a certain area of the US that would be more
likely to have more McCoy than other regions?
I recently acquired two McCoy flower pots (green glaze with a
Greek Key-like border around the top of the pots and the saucer).
Great site for learning about the pottery! I look forward to
seeing more as the site grows.

My parents started my interest in McCoys a few years ago. I have
had so much fun adding to my collection. I especially love going
into an antique shop and finding an unmarked piece for under five
bucks!
I've just started collecting McCoy and have become additcted. I've
had a mentor in my endeavors down here, Betsy Mattingly. She grew
up in Zanesville and she knows Billie and Nelson quite well. With
this influence you can imagine how involved I'm getting.

pretty well answered my questions. However, did they ever mark
anything with just "USA"? Have heard conflicting stories. Keep up

Started collecting McCoy pottery about 2 years ago; my mother had
a turtle planter that is a McCoy - didn't know it until I
purchased a book about the pottery! I don't have many pieces, I
buy only what I like. Your information is great! I will visit this
site many times.
Looking for a place where I can view many pieces of McCoy stuff
(all types - I don't collect cookie jars or anything else
exclusively) in addition to garage sales, flea markets,
etc.

Just thought I'd share my recent purchases with you. Bought the
cowboy book lamp in mint condition with original lampshade. It's
about 15 or 16" tall. The boots are about 8" tall. Also I just
purchased a pair of Lilly vases. They are about 8" tall and about
4-6" wide at the top. The flower part is light yelow and green
leaves stick out from base. Just beautiful and in mint condition -
not a scratch. Love to all!

I'm really sorry to bother you but what I would really like is a
price on 2 pieces that I purchased today. I do not expect them to
be valuable but I would like some info. I have 2 small, about 5
inches high, flower pots(?) with attached saucers. One is a dark
brown tweed design or bamboo design and the other is yellow with
sort of an azrex (?) design with the bumps on it. They are both
simply marked McCoy and both are in perfect condition. Could you
please tel me not only what I have but it's value? Again thank you
so much. Sandy

I've been collecting McCoy for about five years. When I go into an
antique shop or a junk store I scan the shelves for it. I know it
by sight! My most exciting find this year was the Dog Planter,
1954. Collecting McCoy is a mission!!

pottery and started to collect it. I have very little but picking
up a piece at a time. Going to auctions and garage sales. I would
like to see more on what all McCoy made.

I have been collection McCoy slowly for about five years. My first
piece was a yellow & green wheat vase in perfect condition
that I got at a yard sale in a big box of kitchen ware all for
$5!!! I have about twenty pieces and counting. I also collect
Hull, Shawnee, Roseville, and Red Wing.
IT'S NICE TO SEE A WEBSITE FOR MCCOY. I JUST RECENTLY INVESTED IN
A BOOK LISTING SEVERAL ITEMS AND CURRENT VALUES. I HAVE ALWAYS
BEEN ATTRACTED TO MCCOY POTTERY EVEN AS A CHILD. BETWEEN MYSELF
AND OTHER FAMILY MEMEBERS WE HAVE MANY PIECES. I DON'T EVEN KNOW
WHERE I GOT SOME PIECES. I PURCHASED 4 PIECES AT A GARAGE SALE IN
THE MID 80'S FOR $19.00. WHAT A DEAL. I'M SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING
BECOMING A COLLECTOR.
Your pottery is some of the prettiest ever made. We have several
pieces that have been handed down and some we weren't able to
resist at flea markets. It was a nice surprise to see this
website.

I have several pieces of McCoy pottery that I acquited from my
Grandmother. I especially like pieces in plain white. I have a 9
in. diam. pot that I especially like It has leaves around the top
and a diamond shape design around the body. It has side pieces
like handles but are not open to put fingers through. A while back
I enjoyed a program with Martha Stewart that showed her collection
of McCoy Pottery.
Did BRUSH-McCOY EVER MAKE "GOLDILOCKS"????????? I like your

I began collecting houseplants approximately 20 years ago, and
began collecting McCoy planters 10 years ago. Since then it has
been my pleasure to see the quantity of my planters overtake my
plants. I also have quite a few vases to go with my collection,
along with a few Shawnee and Roseville thrown in, as well.
I enjoy collecting the McCoy pottery along with my mom and my
brother . My father in law recently gave me a 14" bowl with pink
and blue stripes around it . It is marked Oven proof :McCoy USA ,
under that it has 2 small marks that look like the letter L with a
smaller L inside . Any info would be great .
I've just begun collecting McCoy, and have purchased lovely mixing
bowls (set of 3), a cute little yellow pitcher, and a small
planter. I've learned so much on-line - really appreciate it.
We're a bit limited here in Canada, collecting American pottery,
but it's fun nonetheless!!!
I love butterfly and have been a collector for 2 years and my room
is completly shelved with all of my wonderful mcoy. If you find

I have been collecting antiques for years without knowing what
they are. I am researching for info on some of these items now.
Maybe I will learn I have a priceless item, or more than likely,
good collectables.
I am so happy to find a site dedicated to McCoy pottery. I am
mostly a collector of McCoy cookie jars although it is always
interesting to see other pieces as well. My most prized Cookie Jar
is the brown wren house. It means the most to me because it sat on
the counter of my childhood homes. We moved a lot so it was
important to have some things that remained constant. I treasure
it dearly. It also seems to be a rather rare find as I have not
seen it anywhere else. Thanks and best of luck with this
site.

I have just purchased a "Mammy" cookie jar from 1948-1957. I know
this because it just says "cookies" and not the sentence used in
the early 1940's. I am trying to find out what it is worth on the
market today?
